May 2014 Topbox

I received the regular box this month and chose to opt out of the Prive options as none of them interested me yet again. However, this box was actually pretty good. They are all products I will be trying out. Topbox has certainly stepped up its game for this month and I am quite pleased.

I received:

Since this was Earth month, the products came in a reusable purple organza bag instead of in the regular tube. I actually like the idea of the products coming in these little bags; they are much more useable in my opinion (ie. using as gift bags/storing makeup) because they are not as bulky.

Kinetics Nail Color in Beautiful Dreamer
– A pretty pastel pink colour that is great for this Spring and Summer season. I have not previously heard of this brand before so it will be interesting to see how well the formula is in regards to chipping and the amount of coats. I tried it and it took 3 coats to get the true colour on my nails.

Lancome Paris Hynose Doll Lashes in 01 So Black
– I have tried other Lancome mascaras and they all have a tendency to smudge on me. I will give this a try and see how it works! The name sounds great though–who wouldn’t want “doll lashes”?

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skin Balancing Lotion SPF 15 for Combination Skin
– A skin balancing lotion to maintain moisture while keeping protected with SPF. This is a promising product that is great for combination/oily skin types as it is oil-free and it is a plus that it also keeps your skin protected in the sun.

Benefit Cosmetics Posiebalm – Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm
– This is a new product from Benefit and I am excited to try it out. These balms follow the tinted cheek & lip stains, but this product is catered towards lips. Simply put, It is a hydrating tinted lip balm. The colour is ideal for spring, but the sample is really small! The packaging makes it look like there would be a fair amount, but upon opening it, you could probably get about 5 or 6 uses out of it. Upon testing it out, the colour is still sheer with a slight hint of pink and it smells very florally.

Also included was a small, empty Lancome jar for you to go into The Bay to get a free 10-day supply of a Lancome foundation. I have been meaning to try a Lancome foundation for awhile now so this will be my chance! Teint Miracle, Teint Visionnaire or Teint Idole Ultra 24H?

There were also a couple of coupons enclosed: 2000 Shoppers Optimum Points when you purchase any Benefit lip blam or tint & a coupon to save $10 off a $50 purchase of Clarins, La Roche Posay, Lise Watier, Strivectin or Vichy products at London Drugs.

I am very happy that Topbox included premium brands in this month’s box after contacting them and giving them feedback on how some of the samples in previous boxes were not living up to the claims on their website. I really hope this keeps up! You did well this month, Topbox!

What did you receive in your May Topbox?

    1. Topbox has been pretty hit and miss. Lately they have been a miss, but I am pretty happy with this month’s samples. Feel free to check out my reviews on previous months of Topbox’s :)
