2012 Christmas Events in Vancouver

The holiday season is approaching and a great way to enjoy it is to visit some of the exciting events and festivities around Vancouver.

Bright Nights in Stanley Park
November 29 until January 1, 2013 (Closed Christmas Day). Sun-Thurs: 3-10pm Fri & Sat: 3-11pm
– In addition to these hours, there will be special matinee train ride times every Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday in December from 11am-3pm ($5.50 per rider)
Cost: Adults: $10 Seniors & Youth (3-17 yrs): $7 Children Under 3: FREE

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge
December 1 until January 5, 2013. 4-9pm
Cost: Adults: $31.95 Senior: $29.95 Student (17+) $25.95 Youth (13-16): $19.95 Child (6-12): $12 All proceeds go to the BC Professional Fire Fighter’s Burn Fund

Ice Skating at Robson Square
Now until February 29, 2013. Sun-Thurs: 9am-9pm Fri & Sat: 9am-11pm
Location: 800 Robson St. across from the Vancouver Art Gallery
Cost: Admission is free if you have your own skates. Rentals are $4, helmets $2

Karaoke Christmas Lights Tour by the Vancouver Trolley Company
December 7 – December 30, 2012. Daily, from 6:30pm
Adults: $40 Seniors & Students: $35 Children $25 Family (2 Adults & 2 Children): $110
By reservation only.

Luminescence at The Vancouver Aquarium
Now until January 22, 2013. 9:30am-5pm
Cost: Adults: $21 Seniors & students: $16 Kids (4 – 12yrs): $13 Children 3 & under are free

Vancouver Christmas Market
Now until December 24, 2012. 11am-9pm
Location: The Plaza @ Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Cost: Adults: $5 Kids (7 – 12 yrs): $2 Kids 6 & under: FREE
– Monday-Friday 11am-4pm Admission is $2

Vancouver Santa Claus Parade
Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 1pm
Location: Downtown Vancouver

Vandusen Botanical Garden – Festival of Lights
December 7, 2012 – January 2013. 4:30-9pm (Closed Dec. 25)
Cost: Adults: $14.25 Seniors & Youth: $10.50 Child (3-12yrs): $7.75 Child Under 2: FREE Family: $32.50

I do suggest that you go check out some of these events if you have the time. Bright Nights is a nice event to attend with different themed train rides every year. The Karaoke Christmas Lights Tour allows you to visit a few of these venues in 3 hours–Awesome! So go out, grab a cup of hot cocoa and spend time with your loved ones. After all, that’s what the holidays are about, right?
